Ancient Rome Boardgames - PunkReaper - 03-30-2008 What boardgames would you recommend. My favourates are as follows: 1. Command and colors: Ancients 2. Hannibal 3. Conquest of Empire 4. Britannia Re: Ancient Rome Boardgames - M. Demetrius - 03-30-2008 Well, there's this: http://web.archive.org/web/200702031021 ... games.html Re: Ancient Rome Boardgames - PunkReaper - 03-30-2008  D But really talking about modern boardgames set inthe Roman period. Re: Ancient Rome Boardgames - Narukami - 03-31-2008 Conquest of the Empire is a favorite around here -- a simple game we can all play, even our 7 year old grandson. One doesn't have to be a war game fan to like it. Also considering Command & Colors for the same reasons (and looking forward to your review PunkReaper) If you can find it you might take a look at Eagles by GDW It is long out of print but you might find it on E-bay. Avalon Hill re-released it as Caesar's Legions and you might have more luck finding that. Also from Avalon Hill: Siege of Jerusalem which is fun but could use a re-release and updating (perhaps by GMT) Again this one too is long out of print but does surface on E-bay every now and again. Narukami Re: Ancient Rome Boardgames - PunkReaper - 03-31-2008 Valley Games is republishing Republic of Rome soon and this is a game that can be played solo....worth a look at Re: Ancient Rome Boardgames - Severus - 05-01-2008 Hannibal is a great game and can also be played on-line using the ACTS system. http://acts.warhorsesim.com/dynamic/timeout_error.asp here is a page with more info on the game http://www.yxklyx.com/thecolosseum/hannibal/ |
