Hello all Big Grin

I was shoping at Best Buy, and guess what!?....

I discovered that if you are able to spend around $100 USD for a TV serie DVD, I meant with the purchase of a TV DVD Serie, like: "Sopranos" or " Bond of Brothers etc., you can take the Entire First Season of " HBO's Rome" in a single DVD for FREE! .....

I dont know if you can find this offert in their site?, but for those able to pay around $100 for a DVD TV serie, & have a Best Buy closer their Home, just go and check Smile www.bestbuy.com

Good Luck!

Re: HBO\'s "Rome" to present more realistic look at the - Niedel - 09-20-2005

Comerus. Season 1 consists of 12 episodes. I don't think it was announced when it would be available on DVD. If I understand correctly, the freebie you mentioned is just episode 1 of these 12. So far, 4 episodes have aired. And the show was extended into a 2nd season for next year.

John & Niedel...

You both were right! Cry .... aparently I was so shocked by the fact of seen this DVD so quickly in the store, that I reed the information so quickly & confuse the word Season of Sopranos DVD that was on the list with the word episode of HBO's Rome, yes it is only the first chapter  ,

I feel so bad, and I dont like that my words be in vain, so please forgive me if I make some of you wasted your time.... For that if the Moderators allow me, to make the thread more fun, I would like to make a contest here or in off topic, the one who guess one of my question 'll win one Osprey Book, I have two brand new extras that I have it already, but maybe you already have it? The Warrior of Ancient Greece byMcBride & Guardians of the Roman Empire by Richard Hook... If the winner have it both, I may buy one that he dont have, perhaps: the Roman cloth#(3)???

I know this is stupid of me, but I feel bad that my words be in vain  ... To the winer I can send the book to your most nearby post office, just tell me in private mesage  .. I just 'll feel good to do something nice, and be the first to do this in this Forum  ....Oh! if the moderators allow me Smile ? And just to people that is in this same threat can participate..

Comerus, no need to make anything good, it's no big deal at all!

Re: HBO\'s "Rome" to present more realistic look at the - A_Volpe - 09-28-2005

I, too, am getting hooked onto the series.

I guess I just have to let the half-arsed military details pass for now. They did at least have most of the soldiers in Hammata. That's at least an improvement. I did notice I cringed each time I saw an offier in leather armor, but, as far as we know, that much is possibly accurate.

Although my major gripe with the most recent episodes is the Legionary Pullo (pollo?) wearing a tan colored Tunica with a black "Imperial Eagle" printed on the front...UGH! *palm-forehead* Did he complain not unlike Sam Jackson in Star Wars for a Purple Lightsabre as for an "Eagle print Tunic"? Or was that a "Producer" call? Damn they were doing SO well.

Gotta love the really nasty grafitti everywhere. Egads!

I'm really getting sick of Atia though. I mean, isn't she getting sore with all that action? Take a rest, honey!

The thought of Ocatvian being very strict morally...well now we can see where he gets it from. Seeing your mom(?) naked and boinking everything in sight, yeah I think he's a little traumatized, or being sent off into Gaul "all alone" to go talk with Uncle Caesar then being sent back with a severed head in your lap...Time for some therapy!

I do really like the Centurion character, very interesting.

Re: HBO\'s "Rome" to present more realistic look at the - John M McDermott - 10-03-2005

I just saw the Penis Optimus Maximus episode and wished they wouldn't have put that part in. Less pornography and more history, please.

They did have a neat seen where Octavian and Titus were practicing the armatura, however.

Re: HBO\'s "Rome" to present more realistic look at the - Niedel - 10-11-2005

Very disappointed of the "Pharsalus" episode. After all the buildup, they should have shown the battle. Instead we get 10 seconds of blurry sword swinging a la History channel and Pompey drawing a little sketch in the sand. Bummer.

Free Rome episode DVD - Arthes - 10-16-2005

Greetings
this was posted in another forum I belong to a couple of days ago:
I thought I'd just let anyone whose interested in the HBO's series of ROME know that the first episode, along with a trailer,
and behind the scenes is avaliable on DVD at Best Buy for free. Of course that's with purchase of one of the listed DVD's from their network, but if you choose not to buy any of them, the DVD is only 1 cent. So all in all, it's still basically free.
It's a wonderful episode too!

I think Best Buy is an American store, i've checked the website for this offer http://www.bestbuy.com/ but cannot find any
reference to this on there?
PS...I just realised that Comerus posted something very similar a few weeks ago........

Arthes
