J. K. Anderson (1924-2015) - D B Campbell - 11-21-2015

The name of Professor J. K. Anderson will be familiar to anyone interested in ancient Greek military history. His Military Theory and Practice in the Age of Xenophon (1970), with its meticulous citation of sources, should probably be the second port of call, after Peter Connolly's Greece and Rome At War.

The son of Sir James and Lady Anderson, he was born in India in 1924, educated in Scotland, and rapidly progressed to a Professorship in California (1958-1993), where he has died at the grand age of 91.
