Journey to Bethlehem, 2 days ago:
Many of these guys were volunteers from the church we were at. They were a great bunch!!!
I'm not wearing armor (Josh didn't bring enough Loaners...) but I do have my Pannonian hat to show off! And yes, I know I have glasses on (there were a lot of people, especially children, so seeing was a bit more important than accuracy.)

That.... that is, reenactors? I am still so, so terribly new, but... Wow. I am so jealous of you guys, already having full kits, knowledge beyond belief, and having fun at events, I only got a lorica and need to get the ball rolling on the rest of my kit.
Seriously, everybody here, you guys are awesome, I hope that I get many years with you guys, great crowd to be around, very nice and fun.

Well the great thing about reenactment is that most groups have stuff you can borrow while you get your own stuff together. We help each other out.

I do get that feeling, but even if I am given some equipment lended while getting my kit working, I have a long ways to go, but I have been passionate about Roman History for a year and a half now and it hasn't been going away, so there's that!

That was my first event as a late Roman, hopefully Caleb can get his Skirmisher impression together so we can both do it at Castra this November. I just got my Spiculum and a few Verruta finished, waiting for the shield boss so I can start putting that together.
