Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Gaius Julius Caesar - 06-14-2007 Hey Crispus/Graham, is this Chester thing an RMRS event? I don't see it on the list on the website? Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Et tu brute - 06-14-2007 Hi Byron, the Chester event is listed on the RMRS website, it's on the 16/17th of June if that helps. The RMRS event on the 16/17th June is at Colchester according to their site. I had heard that the RMRS would be at Chester at the end of June but they do not appear to be aware of that! As it turns out I will be at Vindolanda that week-end so will miss out on the local event anyway. Graham. Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Marcus Caecilius Avitus - 06-14-2007 To clarify, The 'Chester Thing' is being held over the weekend of 30th June and 1st July (although some activities will commence on the afternoon of Friday 29th). For RMRS peeps you have been engaged/invited although it doesn't show on your site yet. I forwarded full joining details to Ary earlier this week and expect she will forawrd them to you shortly. Out of interest RMRS will be on the Deans Field (Northeast corner of the original fortress). Look forward to seeing you all there. For anyone else, please come and see what's going on and get involved. Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - FAVENTIANVS - 06-14-2007 Well done Chuck! Welcome to the club! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Gaius Julius Caesar - 06-15-2007 Quote:To clarify, Thanks! Finally an event that I may be able to get to! Graham, I will be sorry to miss you as it now seems we are going after all. Thanks for the PM by the way. Crispvs show here your roman imprestion - brennivs - tony drake - 06-16-2007 Caballo here is a pic of the FALX   sorry for delay Regards Brennivs See you at Chester if you are going Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Virilis - 06-16-2007 Tony, this looks great, a real "bowel-cabin opener" hock: ! In fact I can imagine how the Domitians and Trajans legionaries must have felt when confronted with weapons like these (btw, do you sleep at all, I mean how can you find all the time to produce all these wonderful items  ...) Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Theodosius the Great - 06-16-2007 Wow :!: Impressive. BTW, is the Falx meant to be a double-handed weapon ? I don't suppose it could be used effectively while holding a shield. ~Theo Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Gaius Julius Caesar - 06-17-2007 There is a similar a weapon that was one handed, but as far as I know the falx was a 2 handed weapon. show your roman impresion - brennivs - tony drake - 06-17-2007 Theodosivs yes I have used my Falx single handed with a clipivs but far more impresive double handed  Regards Brennivs |
