Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - maius - 03-18-2008 Fantastic photos!!! Maybe a small group, but very impressive. Thanks for posting them here. Maius/Bill Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Virilis - 03-18-2008 Cool pics, Jef 8) ! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Marcus Mummius - 03-18-2008 Quote:Very very nice impression, Jeff. 8) Thanks Memmia Quote:Great pics Jef, having all the fun eh? Laughing This was a great event, even if the only moment it didn't pour water on us, was when these pictures were taken  . But then again, we learned to start a fire with soaked wood from a nearby forest in a terrible downpour. Quote:Fantastic photos!!! Maybe a small group, but very impressive. Thanks for posting them here. Smile Our group consists out of 20 persons (about 13 military), but at this event only 5 of us were wanted. But this meant the tents were less crowded Quote:Cool pics, Jef Cool ! ...and on top of it all HELMETS THAT FIT Shocked ! Gratias, Jyrki. The helmets in view are, from left to right: a Gallic D, made by the wearer, a Coolus E from deepeeka, a Gallic H (with real enamel in the rivet cups), made for me by Dean Cunningham. This Gallic H is only 17cm wide, excellent for my head. Valete! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Doc - 03-20-2008 Jef, Nice photos. I agree with Byron. You all seem to be having a fun Roman time. What helmet are you sporting? Do you have a clsoer picture of it? Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Marcus Mummius - 03-20-2008 Thanks Paolo. I'm wearing a gallic H, made by the skilled Dean Cunningham. I believe that before too long he will be making Roman helmets again. Here are some close-ups. Forgive the funny face in the first picture, the sun was shining in my eyes and I was squiting to see something  I got rid of the mirror polish the helmet has in the pictures. Dean gave it the high polish you see in the pictures to ensure the helmet didn't rust during shipping. I also added two pictures of the enamelled rivet cups. Vale, Jef http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y233/M ... eupjef.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y233/M ... upjef3.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y233/M ... upjef4.jpg Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Marcus Mummius - 03-20-2008 Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Doc - 03-21-2008 Jef, Awesome helmet. Yes I know about Dean. My friend had originally asked him to make the Gallic D but Dean declined since he needed to get his shop up and running. I have been planning to ask him to make me the Italic D. Hopefully, as you said he will start up again. Paolo Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Aetius Helvius Merula - 03-30-2008 At long last, I have my basic legionary kit together, with the exception of Maius' scutum. We were going to do a lot more this weekend, but the weather wouldn't cooperate. Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Renius - 03-30-2008 Looking good! I'm glad I'm on your side. Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - maius - 03-31-2008 Looks good Joel! Now when Chris gets his kit togeather and our tent gets here, we'll be good to go. It started snowing again (pretty hard) after you guys left. :? Maius Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - M. CVRIVS ALEXANDER - 03-31-2008 Here is I guarding the gate at fort Lafe. It was cold... Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Robert Vermaat - 04-01-2008 Quote:Here is I guarding the gate at fort Lafe. It was cold...Cold but looking cool! Too much of re-enacting is done in summer anyway.. Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - MARCVS PETRONIVS MAIVS - 04-01-2008 You actually quite match my perception of what a roman soldier would look like.
