Minor M Markle III (1935-2016) - D B Campbell - 06-07-2016
American scholar Minor Markle III has died, aged 81. A graduate of Oxford and Princeton, he began his career at Charlottesville, Virginia, before settling in Australia in 1980 as Lecturer in Classics and Ancient History at UNE (Armidale, NSW). He retired in 1998 (apparently to a house that he built near Armidale in the Greek monumental style!).
Members of RAT will know his work on the sarissa, published in American Journal of Archaeology, Vol. 81 (1977) and Vol. 82 (1978).
