Re: New Recruit - JRSCline - 05-04-2004

You are very welcome, Carina! Ask away! I'm sure the reenactors here would be delighted to have you as a visitor (and if there isn't a Roman group in your region, why, start one!)

Cheers
Salve Carina! I have relatives in Indy but don't spend much time there. Too bad you're so far from Legio XX and Roman Days.
Legio XX
Re: NEW RECRUITS - Anonymous - 05-05-2004

Okay *gulp* here are some silly questions - Where is Legio XX located, and what are Roman Days?

Thanks from the Circle City!
Salve Carina,

you could check the website of Legio XX:

There is also a list with other legions in the US (check LINKS).
Re: NEW RECRUITS - richsc - 05-06-2004

Yup, we're in DC. Roman Days is our big event June 12 - 13. There is also a big event in Conn in mid May, which I think LaWrensNest is organizing.
Legio XX
new recruit - hansvl - 05-07-2004

Hi,

I like to introduce myself as a new recruit. My name is Hans Van Lierde and I'm from Belgium. I studied Roman Archaeology some years ago at the university of Ghent. I'm still very interested in Roman military equipment studies, especially for the early Principate period. Roman weapons in non-military contexts are my main topic. I just published an article in a Belgian regional archaeological journal (VOBOV-info) about a Pompei-type gladius from a Gallo-Roman fanum found in 1947.

I'm sorry for my poor knowledge of English, but I hope to make a contribution to this excellent forum.

Re: NEW RECRUITS - JRSCline - 05-09-2004

Hans, you're very welcome here. RAT was started for people like you! Hope you meet some others with your interests here. Mike Bishop is a member of the forum.

Cheers
Greetings,

My name is Jef Pinceel. I live in belgium and I study archaeology at the university of Leuven. I'm steadily getting into Roman military reenactment and so is my brother (he is joining the ranks of the celtic heavy infantry though).

This forum is a great help!!
posting pictures? - Anonymous - 05-18-2004

I don't know where to post this question, so I put it here.

How do you put the picture by your name? I can't get one to stay!

Thanks, Quintus Florentius

Re: NEW RECRUITS - richsc - 05-19-2004

Jared, that's one of our continuing problems since EZboard does not host photos. If you can find a free space like

www.photobucket.com

you can upload the image, then post the URL here for your image.
Legio XX
