Greetings - Anonymous - 07-08-2004

Salve,

I found RAT through the visitor logs on my own site at unrv.com. (Someone must have posted a link somewhere in this giant mass of posts =P). Forgive me for not joining earlier, but have only recently discovered it.

I am more capable of lending discussion to matters concerning general Roman history, especially the Republic, than those specifically related to the Legions. However, I look forward to immersing myself in this incredibly deep forum, just the same.
Your site has been added to the linksection in RA.com. You probably saw me or Pompey visiting your site. Nice one, that!
Welcome on RAT, make yourself at home.
Greets
Re: New Guy on the Block (though not new to the Army) - Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus - 07-09-2004

Actually, i'm a member st www.unrv.com as Pompeius Magnus. I was actually a member on that site first but someone on historychannel.com discussion board suggested this one too so I took a look and over 100 posts later here I am. Thats how their site got the link on romanarmy.com.
Perhaps if you have a link section, you could do the same?
Greets
Re: New Guy on the Block (though not new to the Army) - Anonymous - 07-10-2004

Since I have an ezboard global account I cannot come up with a nice alias. I'm a freelancing editor and translator with a MA in History, Literature and Indoeuropean Languages, aspiring novelist (another one, there seem to be several here), horsewoman, opera freak and a bit weird.

I found this board via Forward Motion, a Writer's site. Since I work on a novel project about the Goths in the early 5th century, I'm looking for some special information about the Roman military.

My other main interest is the Mediaeval times (esp. 11.-13.th centuries).

hello - Anonymous - 07-25-2004

Greetings! I'm a 30 year old medical records clerk from Albany, GA. My area of interest is the late empire, as I am forming a group that will focus on the era right after the Romans pulled out of Britian. While I'm hoping to capitalize on the Arthur movie, I want to do things correctly. Not Hollywood!

I look forward to getting to know all of you better
Re: NEW RECRUITS - TITVS SABATINVS AQVILIVS - 07-26-2004

Salue Tom, welcome aboard! About your area of interest RAT has some very good "late empire" re-enactors and researchers. So, look at the posts of Aitor Iriarte, Vortigern Studies and Arbogast to learn a lot.
You can see them "in person" and in their late roman soldiers impressions at the "Show here your roman soldier impression" topic, in the "Re-Enactment & Reconstruction" section of RAT.
Re: NEW RECRUITS - Anonymous - 07-26-2004

Thanks Titus. I've already checked out that thread and drooled over the kits in it

I can already tell I'll learn a lot here, and hope to be able to share as much soon!
