dagger-pugiones - maarten - 08-20-2006 Ive heard that several daggers have been published last year in the following book: Evan Chapman, A Catalogue of Roman Military Equipment in the National Museum of Wales, BAR 388 (2005). Is this true?. If so can anybody help me get some cpies of the pages in which the daggers are discribed and shown All in all I'm looking for any info on daggerplates as I am preparing an article on all daggerplates found in the Netherlands. Any info will do. I have Obmann. I have about 23 different plates from the Netherlands now. Thanks in advance, Maarten Re: dagger-pugiones - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 08-20-2006 Yes. I have that book. There are 3 dagger blades, one pugio with scabbard, some plates, and some buckles from daggers. Unfortunately, the pictures are not very clear. If you want it, send a PM indicating your mail. Happy to help you! Caerleon dagger plates - Celer - 08-21-2006 Salve, The catalogue has a photograph of every item in the collection, but the black and white photos do not show the details of the decoration as it is hidden under the layers of corrosion. Your best source for the details is Obmann's Roman dagger book, which has line drawings made from X-rays. Vale, Re: dagger-pugiones - maarten - 08-21-2006 Thanks for the reply. I'll check Obmann.
