Re: 58 bc scutum - Matthew Amt - 09-16-2006 Ave! Here are a couple owned by Legio XX members: http://www.larp.com/legioxx/hastati.jpg Tom, on the left, is holding my shield, and Owen on the right has Tom's shield and my helmet. Mix and Match Day, I guess. My shield is 50 inches tall by 25 inches wide (around the curve), but came out too narrow and straight-sided. Tom's is a much better shape, and a tad shorter and wider. My boss is wood, and the vertical spines on both shields are wood as well. Vale, Matthew 58 bc scutum - hoke - 09-16-2006 my thanks to all who have answered my posts about the 58 bc scutum. the pictures and fabricated shields are appreciated and will motivate me towards fabricating a scutum press. sincerely, hoke |
