Show here your Roman soldier impression
I have pictures of my ptergyes made of layered linen spaning a three row depth. Not to mention a one of a kind reconstuction of the Imperiall Gallic D helmet a friend of mine owns and wants to share his pics of.

I have the pictures on my computer but I do not know how to post them as a photo the way that it is done on the Roman impressions thread.

Any assistane on how to put a pic into a thread would be appreciated.

Thanks

Paolo

Here is a lightly armed legionary of emperor Julians army checking a strange germanic hut in a little island on the river Rhein. Alemanni are certainly on the move because our legionary found a red plastic can containing gasoline...

OKAY, ready of the hall of shame of Roman Legion renactor, be kind, i ve sum-up all the error of purchase : not good red color for the tunic, got a all metal made shield, Lorica segmenta with modern buckle and black leather straps, Pompei glavius with oval pommel, Denix poor replika Puggio, even the pilum has not his bolts and nults(but have to made it travel so not definetely assembled), Caligae leather too thin (a light crack when put one)...
ANW good point : Leather dog leach and collar when wet enough lost their brand and line stamp on and been able to cut and made hole inside for baltric and Puggio straps, need make them "swimm" a lot because the leather was hard to work on, even got pain with a CRKT Folding Combat Knife Blade Confusedhock:

He looks good, that's for sure!
But he still hasn't got a helmet, and I'm told he is a 'member' short....

Thanks, Jef! I designed the tunic and my mother made it (from linen). I added a little decoration with whitish thread on the patterns and it made the difference in my opinion  . I need a shield, A GREAT LOOKING SPATHA (because we late romas are vain and don`t consider the sword [gladius] simply as a tool anymore  ), and shoes!

Virilis, I agree with Jef about the tunics, they look great. The sleeves taper down really well. I can't recall seeing three bands around the cuffs but I'm sure there probably is an example. I also have a cap that's the same color.

Thanks for posting the photos. I'm glad to see LR archers for the first time Big Grin

Btw, these tight sleeves are really essential when you are shooting with a bow!
