Show here your Roman soldier impression
Robert,

That is a beautiful tunic. Does Chirstian also make earlier tunics if asked? Would you happen to have a website or other contact info?

Don't know. It's actually made by Historical Reproductions. Christian Koepfer does a lot of development for them. You can contact him either via hir RAT profile or website. It's also worth looking at his marketplace section here on RAT.

The website of Historical Reproductions is [url:zb9vpqip]http://www.gdfbglobal.com[/url]

Just a bit, if you run your nose in it. When it arrived, the smell filled the garage...

Quote:Do you not hike up late tunics like the early versions, so they are above the knee?
We do. But only in battle I suppose.

Yes he does, he posted pictures of those in the marketplace section (under New Stock I think it was).

Is it possible to get it folded in the waist (under the belt, overlapping parts around 10cm?) and in this way reduce the length if needed? You could possibly also fold it and let it hang on top of your belt? There are examples of earlier rectangular tunics hanging quite loosely over the belt, methinks :? ...

..and oh yes, it looks GGRRREAT Big Grin !

Under what section in the Market place. There are listings of many other amorers. I did not see "New Stock" as a listing unless it is under some other listing.

Thanks

Although I have a greek group, "Athenea Promakhos",I always liked III and II before Christ centuries, but until today, I think, no one roman group in Spain choosed that time. I believe is the most historically interesting in ancient peninsula, with the punic wars and the main part of roman conquest. These are the first attemps and there are still many things to investigate and correct. Some members of Athenea Prómakhos participate in it as cartaginians or romans, depending on opportunity.
I add two links to see two movies of the event. I could not see the first one on my PC, but I think it’s nice

And finally some pictures of my new late Roman kit. Tunica manicata by Christian/Historical Reproductions, Chlamys by Claire Marshall, Cingulum by me. Sword is now Deepeeka, but going to make a new scabbard for it as soon as I find some time to do that. Too much going on at the moment...

Enjoy!

Jurgen,

I am not an expert in the late roman period but I must say that is an excellent impression. I really like the garments on your kit.

I tried contacting Christian for a sagum or paludamentum but I got no reply. Would you happen to have the information for Claire Marshall? I would like to ask her about a paludamentum for a 1st C impression.

Indeed a great location, it's where I got interested in all this... Unfortunately they had to close their doors for 1,5 year last week Sad
Actually this picture was taken during their last day...
