GERMANICUS: The Long-Awaited Bio is Now Available
#1
The much-anticipated biography of Germanicus Iulius Caesar by Lindsay Powell is now available.

This is the story of Drusus the Elder's son who was Rome's most popular general. The book covers Germanicus' first campaigns in Illyricum (AD 7-9), the great war in Germania (AD 15-16) against Arminius - architect of Rome's humiliating defeat at Teutoburg - and his amazing journeys to Armenia - during which he crowned King Artaxias - and down the Nile. It examines the circumstances surrounding his mysterious death in Syria and challenges the age old allegation of murder by poisoning. It also tells the story of the love and loyalty of his wife, Agrippina the Elder, who bore him nine children (one of whom was the future emperor Caligula) and their fate at the hands of praetorian cohort commander Aelius Seianus.

The foreword is specially written by renowned historian Philip Matyszak, author of The Sons of Caesar and Legionary: The Roman Soldier's Handbook.

GERMANICUS: The Magnificent Life and Mysterious Death of Rome's Most Popular General is available now direct from Pen and Sword Books or all good booksellers.
