You can still recognize paint residue at the Prima Porta sculpture. I myself have seen them in April these year. The colors can be seen still. Although very weak but recognizable.
In photos, it is hard to recognize because they are illuminated. You have to look yourself in order to see anything.

Ritchie you missed my point. I think everybody here knows that the primaporta Augustus was painted. But it was not painted in the way we see in Lindenschmit.
