Eagle headed spatha

Lovely example (assuming it's genuine). Interesting that the scabbard fittings are 'ring and dot' decorated and fairly crude. Possibly Germanic/Scandinavian?

Overall I would agree that it looks Germanic, but the eagle-head also appears on the swords of Praetorians and other Imperial Guardsmen.
