Kuban type helmet in the Western Alps ... ?
#1
Hello to everybody!
While I was studying the Ligurian world during the Iron age, I have just started to analyze this small bronze figurine (around 9 cm of height) with a peculiar headgear.
Supposing that is an helmet, I found an strange similitude with the Kuban type helmets (nn. 21-28).
The figurine (perhaps an applique) was found in the Western Alps between France and Italy but the history of the recovery is confused and there is a possibility that it is coming from an antiquarian market, so if someone is well familiar with oriental equipment, his advice could be an element to confirm the authenticity of the recovery or consider an oriental origin…
Sorry for the moment I just have this few images.
Thanks in advance.
