I am somewhat interested in this sword

The one with the silver rings.

Is the section of the grip in the form of a kidney? If you look at the pommel cap it looks like it was made that way, with the tang of the silver fbutton at one side of the end of the sword tang.

What do you think? Was all the sword made with that assymettrical section ?

Yes, I have been spending some time in her papers. Lots of interesting things. An hungarian forumite (can´t remember his name) has pointed to some of them earlier. But in the context of late roman baldrics.

I posted the link to that particular one because it shows the photos and can be seen what seems to be a purposedly assymetrical section, not a compressed one after deposition.

I also would be glad to hear opinions about the reconstructed baldric. It doesn´t work at all in my opinion.
