Show here your Roman soldier impression
Ahhh, looks good Jurjen.
Good chouice with the blue, it is what I was planning on doing with my saddle when I got it!
Someone said it would be silly...I should have ignored him.

Fantastic! 8-)

Fabulous! The blue and silver goes really well together. Very smart.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Merlot in one hand, Cigar in the other; body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!

Excellent Jurjen,

I too very much like the blue leather. Did you naturally dye the leather or use a modern dye? Eitherway, which color blue did you use? Does it have a specific name?

I also like the hamata doubler. Not too many reenactors use that design very much even in the cavalry impressions I have seen.

Those were very nice impressions of your son in the historical settings takes me back some years now to when I took part in the "Le Pasqua" celebrations with my friends in San Cataldo Sicilia, this was where they gave me the honour of leading the whole Roman contingent down to the trial of Christ, and also to take part in it on stage with them. The celebrations goes on for a week and it was a very new and exciting experience for me which I treasure, and I am the old guy in the Toga.

Jurjen,

Is your horse always walking like that, or does it feel macho in Roman war gear?

I don not totally get your question. It's a stallion yes, so he has to behave 'manly'.

I noted that the mare of a friend of mine, who was a renactor of the Dutch Red Lancers, completely changed in body-language once she had been given her huge Napeleonic saddle and equipment. She usually looks docile (which she isn't, she is rather agressive, so she really enjoyed reenactment), but when in Napoleonic attire and carrying her lancer, she curved her neck, picked up her legs and trotted around like she owned the place.

A small thing from my group and our friends of Augustus Caesar Praetoria. More will come, they don't have other purpose to show what we do.

It was at Vaison-la-Romaine.
