Thanks guys! In fact I have already made an oval of plywood 12 mm thick and 110 cm high(heavy, yes!). I will get an umbo and finish it by the next spring...

Robert, I have so-and-so Burgh castle helmet and in fact it is not all that horrible :wink: ! Spatha-wise I have some cunning plans too...

Yes Jim, that's the one, not so much smaller, just round as opposed to oval. Just remembered the difference but not the details.

What spatha did you get Robert?
