Show here your Roman soldier impression
That is an excellent picture! You can imagine a whole legion behind that formation!

I can confirm that was really impressive !

For High empire, they were about 160 legionnaries and a few more officially.
Only 20 gauls unfortunately.

Late romans were 35 which is our record though no foreigner troops were present.

The total number of reenactors from gauls to William the conqueror's normands was 550 officially and in reality about 600.

Bye !

Good to meet you there -- it wasn't a 'Viking invasion' -- it was a confederation of Alemanni, Thuringians, Anglo-Saxons, Svear and Gaulois -- and it was good fun.
Thanks for showing me the manubalista -- I like your shield!

Sorry for the delay in replying - for some reason I don't get notified when there is a reply to this thread.
Emmanuel,
Dave Roper made my helmet, as he did with much of my kit -- thanks for the compliment. Your equipment was impressive, too.

Rodoric -- thanks for the link to the great photos -- good to see you at Marle.

Adrian -- shame that you couldn't come- I think that you would have had a good time.
