The braces on the back of the parma...do they overlap each other (half-lap joint) or just meet where they cross?

Quote:The braces on the back of the parma...do they overlap each other (half-lap joint) or just meet where they cross? Hi David. Well they just meet were they cross. A half lap joint would be stronger but I don't really use this parma for combat... The backbracing on the parma isn't really necesary to strengten it I think. It's main function is to keep the fabric strongle in place, thicken the grip and provide a stronger base for the umbo nails and the rings of the carrying strap. Vale,

This is me (as an archer, so minus armour) earlier this year in Dalby forest, a really nice place.
I'll try and get a picture of me in armour with shield, spiculum etc.
