There used to be a chap in the RMRS who covered his tattoos with makeup. He had been shown how to do it by a professional makeup artist and used to do it very well, using six separate shades (I think) to build up a realistic skin tone. Most of the time it would have been impossible to tell there were tattoos underneath, but it did take him about half an hour to apply the makeup and on a hot day he sometimes found that some of it washed off thanks to sweating and the tattoos started to show through again.

This may sound silly,
Many Bridal shops here in the U.S. carry this very thing.
DAVIDS BRIDAL, a national chain, has it. I saw some just yesterday, in fact. Not sure of the price.
I think they have a web presence for those in other countries.
Hope this helps.

True. I'd forgotten about that. My daughter was a bride's maid in a wedding and had to cover some tats on her forearm and back. (If she'd asked me, there wouldn't be any there, but she was out of the house by then, so -- ) Besides, Paul, visiting a bridal shoppe...bride's maids aren't always married, y'know? Might find a match there (if you don't already have one, that is) :!:

This is my impression of a Roman "CORNHOLIVS TIPIVS NICARAGVANVS", the pic was made in a school´s shower room on the free day during our march in september. Enjoy!

and he did certainly not drink much beer there. We did drink much wine, though
Anyway, great impression, Christian. It was a great week, indeed!

Nice pilum and scutum. Good impression of a soldier on the march, IMO.
