Ancient Rome + Star Wars...
#16
Well, the armor might be accurate, but the logic is not.

How is it that the Clones of the Grand Army of the Republic went from a well trained, highly motivated, excellently equipped, elite force, steeped in the regalia that inspires and reinforces esprit de corps and possessing a level of "never miss" marksmanship second to none, to become by the time of the Empire, an elite corps of poorly led, questionably trained, badly equipped, martial buffoons incapable of hitting the ocean if they fell out of a boat and having lost all sense of military history, fashion and esprit de corps?

How did that happen?

Of course I hold George Lucas responsible. When Darth Vader became Luke's father that series ran off the tracks. Of course, it is George's story to tell and he may tell it in any way he chooses, still... :?

And, as a point of reference, despite the foregoing, I remain a big fan. One need but look into my garage and the boxes of Star Wars "stuff" stored away in there to see just how insane I really am.

But I digress...

Thanks for sharing the clip with us. Lots of fun (and no dearth of shock) in watching it...

While they may fail in the accuracy realm, I'd certainly give them an A+ in creativity and ingenuity!

Absolutely Robert.

I once used a scene from the original Star Wars to illustrate a point about Zen for a class I was teaching in Asian Studies. If a contemporary reference can serve to draw the students in I'm all for it.

Not every thing works in their film, but the inventiveness more than compensates for that and overall makes for an amusing film.
