Re: New recruits - M.H. White - 11-07-2006

Hello all,

I'm an undergraduate student from Tennesseee, working to a Masters and Doctorate in classics. As a historian primarily interested in the militaries of the Classical world, I love Rome and am currently taking some upper-division history courses about Rome.

I also have ambitions to reenact, my dearest wish being to assemble a unit of 200 men (I forget the real word) for a unit of Companion Calvary.

Welcome!

"I also have ambitions to reenact, my dearest wish being to assemble a unit of 200 men (I forget the real word) for a unit of Companion Calvary." Robin Lane Fox gave his advice free for the "Alexander" film- on condition he could ride as a Companion http://movies.about.com/od/alexander/a/ ... 1004_2.htm
That film could have been so good....

Cheers

Caballo

That would've been incredible! And I agree heartily, that movie had so much potential, seeing it really dissapointed me. Val Kilmer was the perfect Philip II

Re: New recruits - Kingdom of Praelia - 11-08-2006

Hello, I am from Oklahoma, USA. I have always been interested in Rome, and the cultural impact on the world.
I am part of a Sports Reenactment group, the Kingdom of Praelia. We study and emulate many cultures, and rome is of course one of the most popular.
And of course, the Quest for Knowledge never ends =)

Salvete Romani!

s.v.b.e.e.v.

Hello,
Ive just registered in this community. Here's some information about me. My name is Stefan, I'm from southern Germany, age 33. Since 5 years I do living history as a barbarian alamannus, mostly in the time end of 4th - beginning 5th century. Sidesteps to the early 1st and mid of 3rd included. Since about 3 years I'm leading a group of ten to 14 alamanni, the Ulfingers. We're not perfect, but quite interesting and always willing to become more accurate.
Within my group I'm quite in a pro roman position and often inclined to submit to a fair foedus. So I hope, you can forgive my barbaric presence within your walls. I have often got valuable hints and information searching the RAT, thanks a lot.
My writing tends to - typical german - complicated sentences, but I try to tame myself. One-liners are not my way. Don't expect me to post very often, because my spare time is too rare for all my projects.

Best regards,

Stefan
