I've been here for several weeks, but I *still* haven't figured out how to upload an avatar. Everytime I try, it doesn't work, even though the image I tried to use was within the size limit.
Also, how does one get a laud or those nice, shiny medals?

what is the error message that you get?
you get laudes from other members (the + at the left)
medals are a reward which you get from the staff. See the medal page for more info: www.romanarmy.com/rat/medals.php

It just said that the size must not exceed 6k. Well, the main problem is when it *is* resized to 6k, the resolution gets very bad, no matter how much I try to fix it! Any tips how to fix this? ... I'm so technically-challenged it's not even funny. :oops:

The best way to do a decent lookink avatar (within the size constrains) is the following:
use an image editing program (like photoshop or other)
- in the image menu: image size: reduce the image to a maximum of 115 pixels ( height and lenght neither height or lenght can be bigger that 115 pixels)
- in the file menu: save it for web as jpeg.

I´m Strategos, my Real name is Willi Miesen and I´m from Cologne/Germany.
I am 19 years old and my Interests are Military History of Ancient Greece and Frederick the Greats Army. Modelling and Painting are also my Hobbies.

Cologne is a very nice city, I've been there 3 times. I love the Dome and rhe Germaniches-Romaniches Museum, the shnitzel and Kolsch at the Fruh are very good also.
