You going for it Caballo? That would be a good job to be sure!
Wander the vaults at will! All the artifacts there for your perusal!
Ahhhhhh, mana from heaven for some lucky dog!

I could see me lasting 2 seconds in that post!

"Hmmm, where did all these bloody big rocks come from, they are a trip hazard! (Puts signs up saying "do not walk on the walls, uneven surface!")

What to do with this safety hazard?????? :? ? ?

Idea I know! We can ship them off to some hot dusty place where they won't be such a trip hazard!

How much is 1st Class postage to Athens Mame?

What does the parcel weigh? At least 70 tonnes! Tongue

Perhaps I am a bit too suspicious, but (a) Greece is finishing the new Acropolis Museum, (b) it will formally demand the Elgin Marbles back in December, and © I suspect that "ensuring a high reputation" is shorthand for "deal the Elgin affair correctly".

Re: British Museum Job Opportunity - Memmia - 08-02-2007

Sounds like a great job, but sounds like it could be very stressful too, especially with that potential Elgin marbles business and the responsibility for all the logistics.
This job seems to me it may be more suited to a business-minded executive general manager type (with historical knowledge of course) rather than someone who was a 'true' historian with a passion for their 'art'. I feel the potential stress may leave such a person a little jaded and frustrated.
I learnt a similar lesson in the last job I had.
Still, a great job for the right person!
