I'm working on getting some things printed and this will be one of them. I'll let you know when they are ready. Johnny Re: 3rd Century Roman Cavalry Illustration - MARCVS PETRONIVS MAIVS - 09-19-2007 Wow, really, that is impressive. I like it how they are looking down at the graves maybe thinking ''We are next''. Really good What other time periods do you plan to portray? Re: 3rd Century Roman Cavalry Illustration - Jeroen Pelgrom - 09-19-2007 very impressive Johnny! Re: 3rd Century Roman Cavalry Illustration - Celt - 09-19-2007 Great picture. Looking forward to seeing more. Do you do any more 3rd and possibly 4th cent pictures. Re: 3rd Century Roman Cavalry Illustration - FAVENTIANVS - 09-20-2007 OOOH YEAH!!! Re: 3rd Century Roman Cavalry Illustration - Arahne - 09-20-2007 One small remark, stelae were colored. Nice drawing. Example of necropolis reconstruction. http://www.digitale-architektur.de/inde ... gal_nr20=1 Re: 3rd Century Roman Cavalry Illustration - caiusbeerquitius - 09-20-2007 Rather these: [url:nzloui78]http://www.digitale-architektur.de/index.php?nav_id=8&gal_akt_image20=704&gal_nr20=1#[/url] But this looks like old gravesm where the colore already washed of, no? Re: 3rd Century Roman Cavalry Illustration - Nectanebo - 09-20-2007 Great picture Johnny, I love it. I wouldn't worry too much about the gravestones. After all these are 3rd century soldiers, for all we know they could have been looking at 1st century gravestones. Surely 200 years of wind and rain would have washed away most of the paint? By the way I've had a look at your portfolio, you've been a busy man recently. Re: 3rd Century Roman Cavalry Illustration - Magnus - 09-20-2007 Very somber. I like it! That is - jc02005 - 09-20-2007 I love it!!!!! Really good Not that I'm much of an art critic, and I can't pretend to know Johnny's intent. However, I've always felt that the mid-late 3rd was the beginning of the end, and the somber image of this one expresses that perfectly. Can't wait for those prints to be available. I've looked through the portfolio, and I'd be willing to take a few of those. I noticed at least one, so far, that I have seen published, as well. Good work! |
