Folks, why are you restricting yourselves to television and movie sci fi? There might be some Heinlein heroines you could do, or Teela Brown might work since Niven describes her in detail. There are also the she-pirates Belit and Valeria in the original REH Conan stories. Of course, you'd have to explain the costume to more people that way.

How about any of the gals off of the new Battlestar Galactica?

Boomer, Starbuck, Number 6, Cali

Or how about them girls from Resident Evil

Re: Female Fantasy/Sci-Fi Characters - Iagoba - 01-17-2008

I would add Princess Vespa from Spaceballs...

Princess Amidala has got a lot of outfits to choose from.

¿Golden Compass is fantasy? Nicole Kidman must won a prize for the "best dressed evil character of the year"

I wouldn´t recomend you the Uma Thurman´s outfit in her first apereance at "Baron of Munchausen": Lady Godiva was more demure(?)...but I fell in love with that scene. Boticelli´s "Venus" brought to life.

Cant pass this one up..

How about a semi-mythical historic person? There was a Samurai woman warrior noted in the Tales Of The Heike, Tomoe Gozen. She was the mistress of Lord Kiso, and known for her armor. When fighting with him in shallow waters of Lake Biwa on horseback and Kiso was about to be killed by Taira samurai, Kiso called her to flee. She did not, and instead took the head of Onda no Moroshige, the Taira commander after throwing him across her horse. No one ever knew what happened to her afterwards.

Show up in armor, and throw a few fresh heads in middle of the party.

You can get your armor from: http://www.samurai-store.com

Heads, you can get anywhere, but I have a moderate list to suggest in your area, and across the channel.

I have a few ideal head candidates myself Big Grin lol:

Iagoba, an evil character would be great. Although only seen Golden Compass trailers.

fantasy - Graham Sumner - 01-17-2008

The costumes for Guinevere from 'King Arthur' and Mira from 'The Last Legion', were both total fantasy!!!!

Graham.

Excellent choice Gaius! Though I would not call Tomoe-san mythical, semi or otherwise. I'm not certain she is a fabrication, but perhaps that is just me being romantic. Still, good choice! Smile

Greetings Libitina!

If not an ancient samurai women then how about a modern one -- Lt. Ripley from the Alien films.

She is tough a nails, well armed, and takes no prisoners -- marine or alien.

Just a thought...

Look at Starship troopers, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, The Mummy, Pitch Black, Shaun of the Dead, Terminator, Ultraviolet, Underworld, Resident Evil, all Fantasy or sci fi (loads more where those came from...)

Re: Female Fantasy/Sci-Fi Characters - Iagoba - 01-18-2008

One of the most beatiful women of Spain of his time.

Re: Female Fantasy/Sci-Fi Characters - vergilius - 01-18-2008

how about Cleopatra? Very sexy !!

Re: Female Fantasy/Sci-Fi Characters - Libitina - 01-18-2008

Quote:So what's your decision Libitina?

Not sure yet. Bit hard because I need a character familiar to me and also one that doesnt need a crash diet for several months in order to squeeze into a catsuit

Lord of the Rings might actually be really good and easy to do - a faux-medieval dress and pointy ears. Plus has the bonus of me actually having seen it Big Grin

I'm more into horror really which I think slots into "fantasy" but distinguishable female characters aren't all that plentiful.

Re: Female Fantasy/Sci-Fi Characters - vergilius - 01-18-2008
