German Archaeology Specific Language - jkaler48 - 06-05-2008 I have discovered that there exist some documents written in German by that seem to use a lot of technical language that was very specific to the field of Archeology. It completely defeats common free translation software and seems to confound professional translators and is even difficult for most native German speakers. It is as if a doctors technical medical report was given to a first grade class to review. So is their a German Archeology specific translation resource available? Preferably free or low cost. Re: German Archaeology Specific Language - D B Campbell - 06-05-2008 Your best bet is probably to post the specific phrases here, and someone will help you, John. Re: German Archaeology Specific Language - Carlton Bach - 06-05-2008 There is an archeological dictionary online http://www.grabungswoerterbuch.de/ Beyond that, I'll be happy to herlp. I do professional translation and I did a bit of archeology at both Hamburg University and Trinity Dublin (though I only have the kleiner Ausgrabungsschein). |
