Anyone visiting Selinunte/Selinus in Sicily this summer? - Eleatic Guest - 07-02-2008 Fantastic site, although difficult to reach. I was last summer there. But now I learnt that the first know spiral staircases in the history of architecture can be found in the Naos of Temple A on the Acropolis. Damn, I must have passed this place by only a few meters with my camera! :x In case, someone visits this place, could you make a few pics of its remnnnts (must have been once a 16 step flight). Stefan PS: There are also remnants of an ancient bridge across the stream in the west of the Acropolis which I have missed. But beware, macchia there is plenty. The views though are outstanding. :!: Re: Anyone visiting Selinunte/Selinus in Sicily this summer? - Eleatic Guest - 04-05-2012 Still interested. |
