That's a lot more complicated sewing than I would like to attempt. Nice work, and nice flat seams. Well done. :!:

At least it's all straight lines.

Re: Show here your Germanic warrior impression - Marcus F. - 12-28-2009

Reminds me to costumes worn by Slavic people.

Re: Show here your Germanic warrior impression - Franklin - 12-28-2009

The basic shape of the decoration is common for many eastern germanic tribes. The wide decorated trousers (bottom cuffs not shown in this pic) are also common in Iranian and other middle eastern parts of the empire.

Quote:You mean before some consumer protection advocacy group had them banned after finding out they were actually dangerous, and could hurt someone? 8) Right after that, the Romans copied them, and added them to the Late Roman panoply, no doubt.

No I think it was before that!!! Maybe our lawn darts game has roots in roman training techniques.
I joined high school track to practice javelins but they uncultured swine didn't have any!!!!! Cry Though pole vault, long jump and hurdles were valid skills. I had to make my own javelins and got pretty good farthest throw was 63 paces and a pulled tricep.
