What happened to the Cohors Prima Cornoviorum - Arturus Uriconium - 01-01-2009

Does anyone know what happened to the Cohorts Prima Cornoviorum stationed at the Wall? Did Maxinus or Constantine drag them off to their deaths and have there been any graves found in Europe datable to after 383 AD?

I ask because I wonder if they went back to Cornovia, either to Deva or Viriconium to help defend Britannia Prima, or Cornovia.

Thanks!

I'd guess the answer is No -- nobody does.

The only evidence for the cohort's existence seems to be a line in the Notitia Dignitatum, "Tribunus Cohortis Primae Cornoviorum, Ponte Aeli". Without it, we would never even suspect that the cohort existed.

Thanks for that Duncan.

I know they found a lady from the region at Ikley but I vaguely remember reading about a grave marker being found somewhere in Europe from a Cornoviorum, but I could be mistaken.
