Anyone have a working link to Travis Clark\'s info? - Cephas23 - 05-05-2009

The archives give a link to Travis Clarks' research on musculata, but the link doesn't work for me. Anyone know if he has the info posted anywhere else? Thanks.

Hi Cephas,

What link was that?

I found the link over on RomanHideout just now. I could have sworn I found it on this site before , but maybe not, (I've searched a lot of sites lately). The link they show is astro.temple.edu/tlclark/lorica/index.htm. There is also another symbol before tlclark but my keyboard does'nt have it. I also searched the Temple site , but had no luck there either.

Hi Bob,

the correct URL WAS [url:1vmtkxxv]http://astro.temple.edu/~lclark/lorica/index.htm[/url], but it simply seems his website is no longer online.

He used to be a member here on RAT, but hadn't been active recently, it seems.

Hi,

You can use the Wayback machine to access his pages, although they already disappeared from the original location. Simply paste the url ( http://astro.temple.edu/~tlclark/lorica/index.htm ) into the form and click "Take me back". Then you will be able to access his pages as captured at different times. It has its limits (you won't see some of the images etc.), but still extremely useful tool.

Greetings
Alexandr

Thanks Alexander! I was able to find Dr. Clark's info with the Wayback machine. It was (and will be) very helpful.

Being a PhD tends to eat up a lot of your time...maybe he just forgot to renew his website...

No, it's getting there that takes the time. Once you're it, you can lay back and be lazy. Big Grin

The WayBack works very well. I've tried to email Travis to find out what's up with his site.
In the meantime, I have posted a bunch of pictures of equipment built by the Julius the Prefect on my site here: http://www.florentius.com/julius.htm
It has pics of his helmets, gladii, parazonium, and musculata.
The musculata is made of hardened leather.
