I believe the whole miniseries of A.D. can be found here:

edit: Apologies, it appears that the vast majority of the series has actually been deleted now, unfortunately.

I remember watching AD when I was a teenager, I loved it and it was probably one of the building blocks that led me toward my current set of interests. The others were Fall of the RE, Spartacus and John Warry's book.

ANCIENT PERIOD MOVIE REVIEWS - Dan D'Silva - 10-14-2013

What... what the hell was that? Some sort of composite trailer made of clips from every other sword and sandals movie from the last 13 years?

And here the trailer to the new Pompeii flick. And a flick it is. Is that a slave revolt they're mixing in there? Oh my goodness. And I didn't know there was a Tsunami rolling over half of Pompeii, and the fireballs, oh the fireballs! Run!!!

Indeed that's a tsunami, and a big one, small wonder after that earthquake which brought massive landslides... Of course Naples and even Rome were also completely destroyed, there will be a sequel entirly devoted to how history managed to cover that up and rebuild the whole of Italy before any pesky historian was raised from his siesta to even notice that this happened.

Quote:When the film, Rome Sweet Rome, (about a US Marine brigade being magically teleported back to 1st Century Rome) is released will we consider it Science Fiction, Fantasy, or Ancient Period Film?
Narukami

Rome Sweet Rome? Oh no! I knew I should have gotten on and written that novel idea I had .... I was planning to write it in 2014, now it will just look like plagiarism... ... it involved something along the lines of modern military going back in time to interfere with the Cleopatra/Mark Antony/Caesar conflict....

Dammit!

Okay, now I'm laughing. But wouldn't it have been even better if they'd done this in the '50s?
