Vat. lat. 3225). Personally I'm not sure if this one is really c. 400. The clavi on the tunicas are not 4th c., but rather earlier (see Graham Sumner's books), continuing top to bottom. The soldiers on the last image are also reminiscent of the 3rd c., rather than the 4th or 5th. The Late Roman MS which really shows Late Roman clothing styles is named the Vergil MS Vat. lat. 3867= Romanus, (Vatican City, Biblioteca Apostolica, Cod. Vat. lat. 3867)See the wiuki article plus images. |
