Medusa Aspis emblems - MARCvSVIBIvSMAvRINvS - 11-23-2009

Hello all, is there any example of the use of the Medusa head on Aspis shields?

I know the Romans used the gorgon's head frequenty on their armour...

hope there are some examples out there...

Type "ancient Medusa shield" in Google images and take your pick! About the second or third page, vase images start coming up. Have fun!
