The Roman Army in the East - hybrid - 04-16-2010

I was wondering if anybody could suggest any passages from the literary sources which allude to the feminising of soldiers serving in the east. I understand that this is common literary topos and would be interested in finding out more.
Thanks

E. Wheeler, "The laxity of Syrian legions", Journal of Roman Archaeology 19 (1996): 229–76, discusses this topic in detail.

Surely some mistake? This paper's in D.L. Kennedy (ed.), The Roman Army in the East (Journal of Roman Archaeology, Supplementary Series 18, Ann Arbor 1996), pp. 229-276.
