Are there any Persian sources on this battle (with the exception of Rock reliefs)? Re: battle of Edessa. 260 AD - Gäiten - 10-18-2010 In the Shahname the Battle of Edessa is mentioned, IIRC a detail is a hard-fought duel between Valerian and a Persian hero named Garshasp the Lion and that almost 10.000 Romans died in the battle. |
