The Pilums of Mars - Gaius Decius Aquilius - 06-28-2011 This clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YO5RC-qeGqY Proves there was Roman-Martian contact. The Green Martians, you note, are holding weighted pilum. Now everybody knows the real Martians are octopus like things that invade Earth with big machines and get germs from us. This makes me suspect the clip as a partial fabrication, despite the use of the Pilum. Edgar Rice Burroughs who did serve for a period of time in the 7th Cavalry in Arizina, probably got his Barsoom material from some unpublished documents he found there from the secret locations of a Roman military base built for the Martian contacts. Given the background, dress, appearance, and demeanor of the Martians in this clip, I cannot fail to recall my last vist from my in-laws. They are from Virgina, however, not Mars. Althogh I wish they would consider immigration. Ralph of Barsoom, Dwar of Manator, Vetran of the 9th Utan Re: The Pilums of Mars - M. Demetrius - 06-28-2011 Oy. Re: The Pilums of Mars - MARCvSVIBIvSMAvRINvS - 06-28-2011 Darn, now i want to see that movie... rotflmao! M.VIB.M. Re: The Pilums of Mars - Virilis - 06-28-2011 Dejah Thoris is still the hottest babe of the two worlds! Re: The Pilums of Mars - john roberts - 06-28-2011 And doesn't that cuirass bear a distinct resemblance to the Mars of Todi? Perhaps these questions will be more fully addressed in the Princess of Mars (2012) due out next March, and in 3D! Re: The Pilums of Mars - Robert Vermaat - 06-28-2011 Is that guy actually drinking the sweat of the creature's back???!!! hock: hock: hock: Re: The Pilums of Mars - Gaius Decius Aquilius - 06-29-2011 I think your right John... Distinct resemblance. Now this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsawq3PBMms Shows a Martian airship that has more than a passing resemblance to a Roman Quinquereme. Obviously during the Punic Wars era, Roman ships scouting for Carthaginian ships would have entered the Gulf of Mexico and sailed up the Rio Grande. Here, they would have encountered the Martains, of course. Roman accounts would have been left for ERB to find. Ralph of Barsoom Ravager of Raxar, Conqueror of Kobol, Damager of Dusar ...among other things... Re: The Pilums of Mars - Virilis - 06-29-2011 Traci Lords! Traci Lords! Maybe the film also has some good ole' Martian orgies Roman style? Re: The Pilums of Mars - Forty-One - 07-01-2011 And isn't it supremely ironic that you see "Martians" carrying weighted pila in movies but never Roman soldier characters? Re: The Pilums of Mars - Vindex - 07-01-2011 Quote:I am so going to rent that movie. I just have to have it for my already extensive and wide ranging collection...I think it is more comprehensible than Valhalla Rising  Re: The Pilums of Mars - Narukami - 07-02-2011 It is amazing how much Southern California looks exactly like Mars. (For those with a keen eye, you will recognize the rock formations from a dozen different Sci-Fi films and TV shows. I would also submit that clearly our Martian Overlords had contact with Asia as the Martian armor bears a passing resemblance to that worn in China, Japan and Korea. Finally, with regards to the soon to be released 3D version I have two words: 3D ... Bah! :? Narukami Re: The Pilums of Mars - Magnus - 07-03-2011 I am also not a fan of 3D. |
