Steel corinthian - Tarbicus - 07-24-2011

If you were gonna paint this one up, and aren't bothered about it not being bronze or brass, I have to say the details and shape of this corinthian are pretty impressive for the price.

Re: Steel corinthian - Uwe Bahr - 07-24-2011

Hi Jim,

for me it looks more authentic than the two other Korinthian types that are mostly sold by Ebay. More than this its surface looks rough enough to paint it in brass.

And also I like the other 'Korinthian' from this seller, what IMHO should be named an "Illyrian". It even has the green patina.

I agree that the illyrian looks much better than this helmet. To be honest, i don't particularly like this corinthian. I think i have seen it in brass, and if it were,i would modify it,by cutting the cheek guards shorter and in a better shape. And openning a bit the eye holes to make the edging narrower.
But would it deserve all this work in steel?
