\"Imaginitive\' Roman Standard Illustrations - jno - 09-09-2011

Back in the'60s, the Belgian firm Henri Wintermans came out with a series of cigar bands with some, to say the least, imaginative Tongue and colorful representations of Roman Standards. They are good for at least a laugh.

But, I am caused to wonder if there wasn't, in fact, a lot more color involved in these insignia than we are accustomed to think? Multi-color phalerae? I wonder.

Hilaritas!
