What do you guys (archers) use for armguards and finger protection?

Armguards: a leather bracer based on a Roman carving mainly to pull the long sleeved tunic out the way. Fingerguards: nothing.

Although I fasten mine up with the lacing on the outside!

Hm... I am a complete novice, and did some shooting with my new Grozer the other week and my fingertips still hurt though I had a fingertab. Probably I was doing something wrong, but whatever I do - I think the fingers will still need some protection. I found this link yesterday: http://leatherworkingreverend.wordpress.com/2009/08/29/archers-finger-tab-from-coventry-c-1500/ but it's of a much much later period (Medieval England).

I cheat and use Grozers finger guards.

I may sound like a dork, but I try to do everything by the same standard: if it feels wrong/hurts, I'm either doing it wrong, or I'm not tough enough to be a legionary ... (yet) Smile
