I'll have a drawing posted here soon, its the shield pattern of my unit, with Valentinian III displayed on the front.

EDIT: Here it is.

Because I'm world's greatest detective(right after Batman),I predict that the shield may bear the inscription Placidi Valentinianici or something like that. This figure is generally well shaped, only Valentinian looks possibly too much soldier-like if one takes into consideration he was typical court Emperor who never actually seen real action. On the other hand this should be an army propaganda,So it does not necessarily reflect a real person.

Robert:This is one of those occasions where artistic license fights with a stark reality Smile .

Yeah, I based it off of a coin and the Valentinianenses Felices Shield pattern. I tried to make him look like a teenager, like he was for much of his reign. The propaganda does also take part, I was gonna put a depiction of Aetius on the back for sort of a "Power Behind the Throne" symbolism.

Yes I will write Placidi Valentiniani on the front. The pattern is supposed to be highly customizable. You could obviously change things or add things on here.

At Robert: The Boss will go in the center, where its supposed to. I drew the image and put a circle around it.

Great work there. I love the intensity in the faces and the way you combine that historical backdrop. It resembles a book cover or movie poster. Fantastic work!

Pavel, thanks for showing the Beth Horon image. As that incident underpins my current Trilogy (The Janus Eagle), it was good to see this morning over coffee!

Oldies but goldies?when I made the order at home I came across my very first and old(well, not so old,I made it some 10-7 years back) attempts in historical illistration, which I did mostly by copying the work of my heroes so "similarity" is not accidental  ...who will find 5 differences?
