Titelberg Pugio. - Gaius Julius Caesar - 08-05-2012 Finally recieved my Titelberg pugio last month, by E. Konig. I am happy with the item, and hope you find it an interesting piece too. I have recieved a few questions about the suspension ring layout. Your opinions would be welcome! 8-) Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - Virilis - 08-05-2012 Wow, wonderful piece hock: ! Is it also sharp? Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - PhilusEstilius - 08-06-2012 When we look at the ring system of this pugio it most certainly has to be worn on the left side. Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - Gaius Julius Caesar - 08-06-2012 Thanks Brian. I havebeen giving it some thought. Either that, or in the horizontal. will be experimenting ths time home. Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - caiusbeerquitius - 08-06-2012 It´s "Titelberg" ^^ Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - Gaius Julius Caesar - 08-06-2012 Quote:It´s "Titelberg" ^^ Just checking to see if anyone actually reads my posts! Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - caiusbeerquitius - 08-06-2012 Maybe you edit the topic title for people using the search function... ^^ Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - Gaius Julius Caesar - 08-06-2012 For some reason, I can't edit the first post, which I think allows me to edit the title... :-? Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - Gaius Julius Caesar - 08-06-2012 Quote:Wow, wonderful piece hock: ! Is it also sharp? I think it is just sharp, but I haven't tried it with a finger yet! 8-) Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - PhilusEstilius - 08-07-2012 I find it strange that the decoration is only on the lower cross hanger of the scabbard which makes one ask the question why not also the upper cross hanger. Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - Gaius Julius Caesar - 08-07-2012 In the report, the upper section wraps around thscabbard, and is not broken on the opposite side, the lower hanger, the opposite side to the intact ring is broke, which I imagine is the basis for the reconstruction drawing with 4 rings. I am guessing, the top one is a repair. Leaves the question as to why repair it with only one ring mount though.... Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - AMELIANVS - 08-08-2012 I definitely consider it as an interesting piece.Beautiful dagger! Re: Titleburgh Pugio. - Gaius Julius Caesar - 08-08-2012 It's quite light, and smaller than some models I've held. |
