Harringbone weave of the tunicas - Anonymous - 12-21-2004 I keep reading about a herringbone weave but at Vindolanda 62% of the textiles were a diamond weave. To the left is a fragment of Fourth century AD Roman herringbone twill from Deurne (NL). I'll post up a piccie of that and my herringbone weave waistband next week. I've also got some images of some of the reconstructed herringbone/diamond twill textiles from the drenthe museum, i'll see if i can find them... <p></p><i></i> |
