What are the greek thigh guards called - Fhyn - 08-28-2015

Hi folks, putting together a kit, going for Archaic Age, and have seen some vases and such, that what looks to be Greek thigh guards along with the greaves. One of the ones I am thinking of, is Ajax and Achilles playing a game. Looks like both have some type of thigh armor on.

Have seen one or two photos of peoples reconstructions, that have the thigh guards on, so just trying to find some good ideas on them, and also, if you wear them, how are you suspending them, if at all.

Thanks
