What would be the best way to re secure the cross piece that goes across the brow of the helmet? It moves up and down and looks tacky...Aug33

Just tighten the rivets that hold it. Even then it is movable when you push it. What do you mean by looking tacky?
When it is pushed up it does not look authentic, but more like it is broken. I just did not like how it looked, thanks for the help. Aug33

I would place the guard in the proper location, mark it with a marker. Move the guard up out of the way and drill a couple of holes smaller than the width of the guard. Put the guard back in place and throw a couple of quick welds on the inside of the helmet tacking the guard in place. Invisible repair from the outside. Problem fixed!

I will try that thanks, Aug33

Hang on - what type of helmet do you have? Motorcycle? It sounds like it was deliberately movable, maybe? Do you have a link to a photo of it?

Here is the kind of helmet that I have, I know it is not the greatest of quality nor the most authentic, but hey it was cheap and it suited my needs. Aug33

The brow guard is the least of your problems.

Re: helmet brow gaurd - Anonymous - 02-05-2005

Well thanks for the help...I know that it is the kind of thing to avoid getting, but I wanted something cheap becasue I use it and beat it to peices. I don't want to destroy one of better quality and so I use this one. Nothing to get bent out of shape over. Aug33

Don't worry about it. If that's the best you can afford now, then it's fine. Maybe later you will be able to get a better helmet.
