Ahh, great stuff! You're looking better and better. Now a sword belt would be a good thing (or a narrower baldric) plus a longer shaft for your draco. Did you order a torc yet? Contact me!

Great shot, Evgenii! Everyone looks nicely kitted out. Smile

"Everyone looks nicely kitted out."

I think I can see cross braced helmets, and I suspect I am seeing a Theilenhofen type helmet on the far left. I am guessing therefore that the intention is to portray Trajanic or Hadrianic period legionaries. Overall the hard kit looks good, although I am not sure of the provenance of the helmet in the foreground (although it does look rather like the nineteenth century restoration of the heads on the Louvre praetorian relief). It looks as if one or two of the men left their military belts at home too, and I can't see enough of the belts that are being worn to see of the mounts are correct for the period the helmets appear to me to be from. One or two more pictures could be helpful in that respect.

For the soft kit, there may be a small amount of work to be done. For a second century AD impression, trousers are fine, but they need to be much closer fitting and should extend to only just below the knee. The tunics look to me to be rather too narrow as well. I don't know what sleeves were like in the second half of the second century AD but for the first half the extant evidence would suggest that tunics were still wide enough to reach to the elbow or forearm without the addition of sleeves. Many re-enactors wear tunics featuring elbow length sleeves but I don't think that such tunics are based on any surviving evidence.

On a more positive front though, it is nice to see pila actually being thrown and it looks as though the throwing technique is quite good as the pila seem to be flying well. It certainly looks as though you get longer periods of good weather than us too!

By the way Evgenii, why do you use two different shield blazons?
