Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Jeroen Pelgrom - 08-25-2006 great shield design! Did you do it yourself? Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Folkert van Wijk - 08-25-2006 Yes I made it myself, using a system of a Celtic compass drawing... I wanted something else than just a couple of "triskels" and torques. Celtic designs BC is a sort of "spearpoint" of my interrest in Celtic stuff. And shields are a great way of expressing this... Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Robert Vermaat - 08-25-2006 Aha, I already noticed one lonely Celt amidst the Romans of legio II Augusta... Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Folkert van Wijk - 08-25-2006 So you where there also!? :o Next time whe should have a shat then! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - claudia crisis - 08-25-2006 Quote:Next time whe should have a shat then!Unfortunate (mis)use of the English language there. Somebody buy the boy an English/Dutch dictionary please before I wet myself! Hilary Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Praefectusclassis - 08-25-2006 Well, it is very Roman to do that communally. Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Robert Vermaat - 08-25-2006 Quote:So you where there also!? :oUnfortunately not! The first time we did not visit... But we may see each other next time. Stuur me een PM! Shit, did I wright something wrong then??? Do you like to chat about it Claudia/Hilary?? Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Chariovalda - 08-25-2006 Hi Folkert, Lookin' good, I say! Carry on! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - claudia crisis - 08-25-2006 Quote:Shit, did I wright something wrong then??? Nope, at the risk of being accused of talking ****! You obviously know the word which did an oops as you just started the last posting with it. Just a slang past tense version of the same word. Wont find that one in the dictionary either. Dont want to totally dredge the depths of who knows the most naughty words in English or Dutch. Hilary Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Marcus Julius - 09-03-2006 Quote:Here is photo. I have no scutum at the moment but I will get one next month. In this photo,Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that the Roman behind that red Scutum is left handed? I didn't think Romans were allowed to be left handed? I only point it out because I'm a lefty myself, and proud of it! Or he is right handed and likes to use his stronger right arm to carry his scutum when he thinks nobody will notice him doing so. Vale, Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Titus Martius - 09-03-2006  No, he is left handed.
